Account and data deletion
Last updated: July 10, 2026
Disconnect one social account
Open the SimplePost app, go to Accounts, and choose Disconnect for the relevant account. This removes the active SimplePost connection and its stored platform credentials. You may also revoke SimplePost directly in that social platform's connected-app settings.
Delete your SimplePost account
Send an email from your registered SimplePost address to [email protected]with the subject "Data Deletion Request". State that you want the account and associated personal data deleted. We may ask you to verify account ownership.
Verified requests are normally completed within 30 days. We delete or anonymize account data, connected-platform credentials, SimplePost API/CLI/MCP credentials, drafts, scheduled posts, post records, and stored media, except where retention is required for tax, billing, fraud prevention, security, dispute resolution, or another legal obligation.
What deletion does not remove
Posts already published to a social platform remain under that platform's control and must be deleted there. Removing SimplePost also does not delete data retained independently by an AI assistant, MCP client, payment provider, or social platform under its own policy.
Self-hosted deployments
If you run the open-source software yourself, the operator of that deployment controls its data and deletion process. Deleting data from the hosted SimplePost service does not affect a separate self-hosted database or object-storage bucket.
