Can my assistant publish for me?
- Can ChatGPT post to LinkedIn?
- Yes, once LinkedIn is connected in SimplePost and the SimplePost plugin is installed in ChatGPT. ChatGPT sends the post to SimplePost, which publishes it to your LinkedIn profile now or at the time you choose.
- Can Claude schedule social posts?
- Yes. With the SimplePost connector enabled, Claude calls
create_postwith a scheduled time, and can show your calendar or change a scheduled post before it goes out. - Does SimplePost have an MCP server?
- Yes:
https://app.simplepost.social/mcp, secured with OAuth. It works with any client that supports remote Streamable HTTP servers with OAuth. Read the MCP documentation. - What can an assistant not do?
- It cannot connect or reconnect social accounts, see platform tokens, read engagement analytics, or edit a post that has already been published. Those stay in the web app or on the network.

Supported clients and how each one connects
“Directory listing” means SimplePost is listed in the client's own app or connector directory. “Installable extension or bundle” means a package from SimplePost's repository or an extension gallery. “Manual MCP configuration” means you add the server URL yourself. None of these is a partnership or a feature built into the client.

What happens when an assistant publishes
- You connect social accounts in the SimplePost web app. Assistants never receive platform tokens.
- The assistant authorizes with OAuth and gets scoped access: read accounts, read posts, validate, and write posts.
- It calls list_accounts to find real account IDs instead of guessing them.
- It saves a draft, shows a visual preview, schedules, or publishes with create_post.
- Per-account overrides let one post carry a different version for each network.
- Results come back per account and per thread segment, including partial failures.
- Drafts and future scheduled posts can be inspected, edited or discarded later.
- Access tokens expire after 90 days and can be revoked at any time.

AI publishing questions
Can ChatGPT post to social media?
Yes, with the SimplePost plugin. Install it from its ChatGPT listing, sign in to SimplePost and approve access. ChatGPT can then list your connected accounts, save drafts, show previews, schedule posts and publish to the networks you connected in SimplePost.
Can Claude schedule social media posts?
Yes. Connect SimplePost from the Claude connector directory. Claude uses SimplePost's MCP tools to create a post with a scheduled time, show your calendar, and edit or discard scheduled posts before they are sent.
Does SimplePost have an MCP server?
Yes. The hosted server is at https://app.simplepost.social/mcp. It uses Streamable HTTP and OAuth, is included on every plan and the free trial, and exposes 12 tools for accounts, validation, previews, scheduling and post management.
Is SimplePost an official OpenAI or Anthropic integration?
No. SimplePost is an independent product. It is available through the ChatGPT and Claude directories, but it is not built, endorsed or operated by OpenAI or Anthropic.
Do I need an API key to connect an assistant?
No. MCP clients authorize with OAuth in the browser. API keys are only for the Pro plan's HTTP API, and they do not work with the MCP server.
Does SimplePost include an AI model?
No. You bring your own assistant and its subscription. SimplePost is the publishing layer: accounts, validation, previews, scheduling and delivery.
