How it works
How SimplePost supports TikTok
SimplePost uses TikTok's Content Posting API with permission to upload and publish on your behalf. It reads your creator info before each post: the privacy levels you can use, whether comments, duets and stitches are allowed, and your maximum video length.
There are two modes. Direct post publishes to your profile. Inbox upload sends the media to your TikTok inbox, where you edit and publish it in the TikTok app; this is different from a SimplePost draft.

SimplePost validates these rules when you schedule and again when the post becomes due.
Account requirements
- A TikTok account authorized in SimplePost.
- A privacy level for every direct post, chosen from the options TikTok reports for your account: everyone, friends, followers or only you.
- Agreement to TikTok's Music Usage Confirmation (and Branded Content Policy for branded content). The web app asks you to confirm before a TikTok post is scheduled or published.
Limitations to know
- Duet and stitch apply to videos only, and SimplePost rejects them when your account has disabled them.
- Branded content cannot be posted with the "only me" privacy level.
- Inbox uploads have no public post URL until you publish them in TikTok, and a direct post's link can point to your profile until TikTok returns the post ID.
- Sounds, effects and stickers are added in the TikTok app, not in SimplePost. For photo direct posts, TikTok can add recommended music automatically.

How AI assistants publish to TikTok
Ask the assistant to call get_tiktok_creator_info first. It returns the privacy options and interaction settings your account currently allows, so the assistant can ask you instead of guessing.
Be explicit about privacy and disclosure in your prompt, for example "followers only, comments on, not promotional". Through the remote MCP server, a direct post with no privacy value defaults to public.
Video files must reach SimplePost as a public URL or an upload from a client that supports files. Hosted uploads are limited to 500 MB through MCP, the API and the CLI, and 50 MB in the web app, which is lower than TikTok's own maximum.
